Our most popular flooring solution is our poured-in-place rubber product. The system is ideal for playgrounds because of its capacity to absorb impacts and reduce injury. Each project is unique and individually designed to comply with all fall height requirements, the ASTM, and the ADA. This system starts with a foundation layer of rubber buffings, which are mid-sized recycled rubber chunks that are bonded together with a durable urethane, creating a thick cushion layer below the actual poured-in-place surface. The cap layer is usually a .5 inch thick layer of small (3-5 mm) rubber granules that can be custom mixed to achieve nearly any look. These granules are also mixed with a urethane binder and hand spread by our professionals to create a sealed, non-porous, heat-resistant finished product. In addition to having solid or mixed color surfaces, customers have the option to create designs, scenes, logos, lettering, or even some 3-Dimensional interactive shapes.

An additional variation of our poured-in-place system is using strictly the top layer of 3-5 mm granules bonded together with urethane over existing concrete. This system is ideal for equine structures such as barns and arenas. The rubber aids in reducing stress on the animals’ legs and joints to help improve their comfort and safety. With this system there is also an option to include an additional protective layer in the stable portion to battle the highly corrosive effect of acidic animal waste. This non-slip, shock absorbing, rubber flooring can be installed in the aforementioned playgrounds and equine structures, but can also utilized in less traditional venues such as pool decks, driveways, indoor/outdoor tracks, slippery commercial walkways, and splash pads. Perfect for your backyard pool!

Another, more economical, option for our valued iPlay customers is our bonded rubber system. This is a single layer system that contains larger rubber pieces (2-3 inches) and a durable urethane binder also hand spread to create a springy and safe surface. Due to the larger size of the rubber bits, it is actually a porous system that allows water filtration. This makes it an ideal application for locations such as city parks or busy walk ways that need a combination of functionality and aesthetics. By using bonded rubber around city landscaping you can eliminate the risk of wash outs, rotting, and tripping hazards all while beautifying the area. This type of rubber system is strictly available in neutral tones, thus giving these projects a natural and soothing look. These same non-toxic, eco-friendly rubber pieces are available in an unbonded form. By leaving them unadhered, they create a loose in-fill system that is a viable alternative to traditional mulch in flower beds, equestrian areas, jogging trails, and other landscaping capacities.

​For ease of purpose in those areas that just can’t be hand spread, iPlay also offers premade rubber tiles. They too offer shock absorbing properties, and can be easily cleaned with soap and water, making them ideal for gyms, crossfit studios, indoor kid studios, or simply heavy foot traffic areas. These tiles are available in a variety of colors that are able to be mixed and matched to liven up industrial or residential spaces. The tiles are impact absorbent, sound absorbent, and non-static. And given the unpredictable nature of Wisconsin weather, such durable surfacing is a must.

A slightly different service offered by iPlay is the installation of our synthetic grass. Synthetic grass has the look of traditional grass, sans the maintenance. This is an artificial grass layer that is installed over a cushion layer of bonded rubber buffings, creating a porous, non-static system perfect for a wide array of locations. Artificial grass can be installed on playgrounds, in dog parks, in residential or commercial lawns, on athletic fields, and on putting greens, among others. It is hypoallergenic and antimicrobial as added bonuses
